"Development of Single Spin Devices for Testing of Quantum Computing Ideas on Silicon and Diamond"

ABSTRACT:

Spin of electrons and nuclei of donors in silicon and paramagnetic centers in diamond (such as N and NV-) have long coherence times which makes them promising qubit systems for testing of quantum computing ideas. I will describe our progress towards the formation of single spin readout transistors in silicon and our approach to single ion doping of these devices. I will contrast this with a description of our complementarities between spins in silicon and diamond as candidates for potential large scale qubit integration.
