"Ultracold Bose Gases in 1D Disorder"
We present our studies on the equilibrium and transport properties of an interacting Bose-Einstein condensate in a random potential. At equilibrium in a trapping potential and for small disorder, the condensate shows a Thomas - Fermi shape modified by the disorder. When the condensate is released form the trap, a strong suppression of the expansion is obtained. This results form the competition between the disorder, the interactions and the kinetic energy which induces disorder-induced trapping. We will discuss how to go beyond this regime in optical disorder so that Anderson Localisation can be observed.
