"Search for an electric dipole moment of the electron with lead monoxide"
Abstract:
The observation of an eelctric dipole moment of the electron (eEDM) would be clear evidence of CP violation in the lepton sector and physics beyond the Standard Model. The current experimental limit on the eEDM already tightly constrains supersymmetry and many other leading theories. A new generation of experiments based on polar molecules stand poised to push the experimental limit into a territory where many expect to see an observable eEDM. In this talk, I will discuss recent improvements in sensitivity to the lead monoxide (PbO) eEDM experiment at Yale as well as prospects for an upcoming EDM data run.
