"Atom Photonics:Exploiting light-matter interactions inside a chip"
Abstract: In this talk, I will review recent progress in the use of hollow-core optical waveguide structures for creating novel atom photonic platforms. The construction, challenges, and opportunities of enclosing atoms in micronscale channels will be discussed. I will focus on recent demonstrations of atomic spectroscopy and slow light in hot rubidium vapor. Future opportunities such as stopped light, ultrasensitive metrology, and few-photon nonlinear interactions on a chip will be discussed.
