"Asymmetry in the final transverse velocity in the Ionization of hydrogen in the n+ 2 level"
ABSTRACT:
The infleuence of orbital momentum in the ionization of a hydrogen atom in a strong field E via tunneling is considered. Whent he atom is in the 2P state, an asymmetrical distribution in the transverse velocity (vT), similar to the Collins effect in quark fragmentation, is predicted and (vT) points in the direction of Ex< L >. The Stark effect produces oscillations of the average orbital, angular momentum <LT>. therefore of <vT>.
